After the smash success of Smokey and the Bandit, Burt Reynolds revealed that “the president of Pontiac promised to give him a brand-new Trans Am every year for life” as a thank-you for skyrocketing sales. But, according to Burt, the cars stopped coming after just a couple of years when a new president took over. 🚗💨

It’s a mystery that has intrigued fans for years: What happened to those cars?

Well, National Parts Depot (NPD) believes they’ve uncovered the very first installment of that promise—Burt’s first gifted Trans Am! Even more exciting, it’s said to be the first-ever Y84 Special Edition Trans Am produced, complete with Fisher-style T-Tops. 🖤✨
